If the RS matches the 37k pricetag of this most fanciest of Jettas, it'll be quite the showdown. If they can come in under the STI's 35k, it'll be a home run.

You can completely disable all traction nannies in the new Golf R.

At least in the U.S. I don't know if other regions have it still locked. I know that decision was pushed for by the American VW executives, so I can't guarantee it's for all regions.
